Ok here goes I was measuring up things for my transmission tunnel and found that for the motor to sit all the way back to "C" my front opening has to be like about 16 inches wide which leaves me a very small footwell indeed. But worse still the clutch cable comes into the transmission on the same side as the driver forcing the tunnel to maintain that width on the drivers side for a considerable distance back. Am I doing something wrong? I am hoping that someone has seen this before. I have tried going through some of the build websites but I haven't seen where anyone has dealt with a similiar problem.

You could you as SAAB hydraulic clucth slave cylinder but the engine is still much too far back --- bellhousing should all be in the engine bay, with a sensible engine this will give 49%fr 51%r weight distribution.

Don't know what your engine and gearbox combo is but you should be leaving the bell housing on the engine bay sie of the bulkhead as shown on pages 89 and bottom of page 174 of second edition. I have just measured my gap with 2.0 pinto and 5 speed type 9 gearbox on engine bay side and is 10 inches. I have attached a quick picture, sorry if it is large, but do not know how to reduce it.

Thank you, Richard and Britishtrident yes I see now that the engine is indeed to far back. I will have to test fit the steering and move the engine as far forward as I can. I certainly appreciate the responses.
