I'm currently working on the rear of my chassis, having fitted the rear A-arms of my irs I'm about ready for trianglation but, I also need
to fix up my diff, it came from a 2wd sierra cossie and is quite heavy as I'm sure you're aware but how stiffly do I need to build it into
my chasis?
Do I need to fix it through every hole on it or do I get away with only fix it at the front and on the back?
I've had a little think about it and there would be alot of twisting on it would there from the propshaft coming from the gearbox and thedrive
shafts wanting to turn and the wheels not.
I want it to be substantial but not overkill

most manufacture's cars use the two bolts at the front, and none at the back. Seems adequate. Triangulate it as best you can, as it does
experience a fair bit of torque reaction
I have heard good reports about the mounting plate from GTS Tuning, and it looks to me like it would do the job perfectly well.

I'm leaning towards using the rear mount aswell and using the diff case as a form of triangulation.

I used 3mm plate cut to a similar shape to those used on the Sieera cross member.
Also used the rear mount, but not the front lower one.

its an easy solution, but i suspect it could be done cheaper and lighter at home just by using some 3x25mm strips, and designing the chassis around
it. I intend to incorporate a simple rectangle into the end of my transmission tunnel, 7" wide inside and about 8-10 tall, sloping back at about
14 degrees. (i think 14 degrees is correct, if anyone knows better, feel free to chirp up!). Then i'll just hang some lugs off it, as short as
possible, and bolt it up tight.
I made mine from 3mm plate, took about an hour.
DIY and use the cash for something you can't do yourself.

Yup. I'm with you Mick.
I have put an angled bracket on the back.
It seemed a good place to brace the bottom of the "boot box thingy" that I plan to make.
