Build started . . . .

Well I got the electroysis tank running today and got the cortina uprights in bits and in the tank. It would help if I knew what I was building! I am aiming to build a book chassis with a beam rear axel however I do not have a donor yet so depending on what I can find it may be IRS.

If I go IRS I will be looking at a wider chassis so the first thing I am going to build are the front wishbones!

I will have to do some practice welding to get the quality and speed up, I tried a bit of scrap today and although the welds look good there was poor penetration possibly because I have got in the habit of using large rods as these work well for repair work, I am talking about gas welding by the way. First set of technical questions will be posted on the running gear section!

You are You can gas weld the chassis, and you can gas weld cars to repair damage. Only downside with gas is that it puts a lot of heat into the joint so there is a higher risk of distortion.
