will this be stiff enough, new engine bay brace...........
Rescued attachment chassis.JPG
Depends what you hit next.
Looks safe enough engine looks like a b/bird whats it sitting in??
Looks very nice indeed. Is there any way you can put a diagonal in that rear square/trapezium?
Liam
When the chain is in (for a trial fit) i will be putting one in, just need to be sure of clearance, think it will go top left too bottom right and clear everything at that.

Will you be strengthening the diff mounting differently this time?
Andy
yea, the diff will be mounted a little higher too too continue the "flat bottom" thru too the rear, the carrier will also be leaning back at a angle too too keep it under the bodywork, in theory it all fits.
looks nice jon, only adding to liams comments and probably only cos i can't see from the piccy but is there some triangulation across the
bulkhead in front of the engine?
Ned.
I think I know what you mean. Will you post when it is done?
Andy
they have been rmoved at the mo Ned too allow the engine to move forward around 2 inch further, will be replaced later.
Will that not make you short on arm and leg room
no, the top chassis rail stays in position the engine as moved into the bit of space that is "wasted ?" behind the seats if that makes sense, also the fuel tank will be going in there too with a bit of luck.
So it will be angled into the seat like the Dominator?
I spoke to Paul Spire at Exeter, he was saying the GTR cockpit was further forward than in the GT1.
The engine is also at 90 Deg to the way it is in the GT1. I know it introduces potentially problems with lubrication, but I do prefer the prop to the
chain drive.
Looking forward to seeing how you progress
Andy
Disclaimer: I know nothing about anything.
The bracing is attached to fillets in the corner of the frame through a bolt? Call me old fashioned, but much of the rigidity of the brace will be
lost in flex on a *relatively* flimsy fillet and movement/stretch in the bolts/fasteners.
Of course, if it's welded, you're stuffed for access - so is there a way to get access from the sides?
Am I being an old woman? (Metaphorically)
Cheers,
Neil.
