I have searched around but can't find a reference to a vertical base board.
I know it's been discussed, and I think somebody on here has done it.
Is it a winner? My garage is 16' x 7'9", which leaves 2' per side for a board at 8' x 4'. it looks like a bit tight to
me. Especially as I am relucant to get too close to the 'spider corners'.
The vertical base board may be the answer. What do you think?
2' either side what a luxary
Just my opinion but gravity will be a pain when taking on and off of the board ?

2' each side is loads of room. I had less than that in the garage I started the build in.
Clean out those spiders, install some proper lighting if you need it, paint the walls white.. do it right.
I think you will regret it if you try and build on a vertical / inclined surface. with a flat board it's much easier to lay and position
measuring tools and tubes, and when you go 3D you really will want it to be in the right orientation.
It's me am I famous. Yes I'm the one with the vertical base board. I can lift it down for fitting the box, axle etc but it uses every inch
of space I have in my shed. All has been OK so far using this method for me however I have had to watch and not make anything that won't fit out
of the door.
I have been offered room at the BIL's but will hold back untill I can manage no more where I am. I reckon I can get it well on before this
happens. Any more questions just ask.
Don't forget you can use the space in the middle as well - till it fills up, anyway.

Space would be great as I always seem to be tidying up before I start.

One of the ones in my shed ate next door's cat If I leave the shed door open he very often closes it and he also hides my tools when I nip out for a p!ss. Has anyone tried a magnetic ceiling or wall to build on? It could be a spacesaver.
I tried that once. I turned the ceiling into a huge electromagnet.
Everything was going swimmingly until the night of the power cut...........
Wonder if anyone has done a build in their cellar because they had more room
My brother keeps pestering me to start another build in the cellar, there's plenty of space and it even has a window and a door, but it needs a right good tidy up
I know people who have restored bikes in their living rooms .
I am getting kind of desperate to find garage space to build my car. I am about to start begging and pleading my boss for a corner of the tire bay
that is not really used but some bugger is storing his new monster sized toolbox there.
Did I mention I just bought a new toolbox? You know you got a good toolbox when there is not enough room in the shop for it until another bay is
built
Sorry, no good input to the origional post. I'm just bored.
Cheers.
