I'm about to order some rose jointed suspension for my car and want to use standard width brackets that would take bushed suspension just in case I ever decide to change it. As the rose joints are narrower than the bush can I space the rosejoint out with washers or spacers? I figure that this will give me more adjustability in terms of castor as well as giving me the ability to go back to bushes at some point in the future.

The local steel supplier had some 2mm wall 12mm i.d. tube that is perfect for spacers for the joints I'm using on my rear axle, just cut off what you need and slide it on as you put the bolt through.

I went the oposite way: I went from bushes to rod ends. For spacers, I used .120" wall 6061-T6 tube. To cut it, I used a pipe cutter--the ones with the roller wheel. Once I got halfway through the tube, I used a hacksaw for the rest. It works really well. I just made a new set last night and it took around 5 minutes per bracket to measure, cut and dress the tube.
