i want to put some insulation on the end of the foot boxes,is there anything from b&q etc that will reflect heat ie silver surface and be gluable without going up in flames

There is a insulated foil that is about 2mm thick that is designed to be placed behind radiators to reflect the heat back into the room.
Maybe Ok, dont know how flame retardent it would be.

Better still, B&Q do a foil backed bubble wrap which I used to insulate all my rad pipes in the tunnel - worked a treat.

there is stuff as described but it is white expanded polystyrene; not sur I'd want that in the engine bay - for domestic radiators it is fine since it can never be subjectedto temperatures of over 100 C nor splashed with oil, petrol.....

(my friend has some stuff in his carerham - I'll ask him.... I could do with some above may ehaust manifold)
