Its 2mm thick and not 1.6mm, would it make the chassis too heavy?
And why does the link icon not put the spaces in the right place when you add a link?

Whilst it will make the chassis roughly 25% heavier, it will also be stronger. The price seems a 'little' high though, at £26.50 (inc P&P) for what is still a single length of rhs. Is there a local steel stockist near you? If you can find one many do free deliveries if you live anywhere near an industrial estate. My local place did.
and you'll need 25% more amps to weld it 4 mm is about the limit of the small 140 or so Amp Migs.
not to mention 25% longer to saw.

1.6 is also a lot easier to cut and it is easier to make a decent weld than 2 mm. With 2 mm the novice welder is more likely to run into lack of penetration problems.
