hi what is the best way of getting powder coat of the chassis some of it lose
and has come away but some is still stuck on well
is there any easy way of getting it of
thanks
Do you want to strip the whole chassis??
nitromoors will take it down to bare metal just go easy with it!
if i dont take all the powder coat of when i get it done properly this time will it have lumps and bumps init or will you not be able to see
Taking it back to the place that did the coating and shouting at them? If it's coming off in sheets the prep wasn't right.
Getting it media blasted is the easy way - just make sure you use a decent experienced operator who doesn't spray it with lumps of brick!
I can only comment on when I wante to re-powdercoat my wishbones, sand blasting wouldnt remove it, so I used nitromoors and the sand blasted them, but
if your powder coat is flaking the it will probbably come straight off,
p.s it wasnt a very big blaster.
some of itt has just come of and other bits are very well stuck on.
i have used a wire brush on the angle gringer and that has removed most of the lose but
were it is very well stuck on what should i do keep on going with wire brush or get shot blasted
If it was mine id have it shot blasted to make a proper job of it.
if you don't get it shot blasted, acetone will remove it nicely without damaging the underlying metal.
