After many months/years deliberating i decided to take the plunge and build a locost. When mentioning this at work a new chap asked me if i would like to buy his. I havent seen it yet but he only wants £200. its not SVA'd but runs. Has to be worth it for the bits even if the chassis is c**p (the man said the body was in MDF!)What do you ever knowlegeable blokes think.
If its a rolling chassis and the engines in its a billy bargain.
Its not a waste of time just to have a look mate
The bloke who's trying to sell it, makes it sound quite good but then he is trying to sell it. It (aparently) only needs some seats, a bonnet, the brakes bled and an SVA! Has to be to good to be true. (Mide you dont think MDF sides will get through the SVA).
you never know what will go through SVA,as each testing station differs.
For £200 its worth it for parts.
Thats what ive told the missus. AND no donor clogging up the drive.........
If it's made out of MDF it sounds like it's a Locust, not a Locost. Check out

It certainly sounds like an offering from "the Cuprinol kings"
They can and DO pass the SVA tho'
Be aware that if it IS a Locust they have a ladder chassis and not a space frame and generally retain the Cortina's complete front suspension,
wishbones, springs, etc.
Sounds like a bargain mate
Cheers
Chris
After Talking to the vendor today, he is now all confused as well. He is going over to his fathers at the weekend to have a look. I will try and perswade him to take a digital camera with him. I will then try and post them. (Maybe).
Work mates just phone up. His dad sold the car for him. What a nice chap. Look like i will have to build. Just have to decide what to build....
