De Dion suspension

Hi,
I am in the middle of installing the GTS De Dion rear suspension. I have the GTS polybushes and they seem quiet hard, has anyone used these bushes, I am concerned that they will put excesive twisting loads on the chasis brackets. I have looked at some 4 bar links as a comparison and these all seem to use rod ends or a combination of rod end at the axle and a rubber bush at the chasis. I would be interested in what would be the best comprimise beetween performance / comfort.

I had exactly the same concern. The bushes are rock hard, and after clamping one end of a trailing arm in my vice and levering the other end, the amount of force required to deflect the bushes is very high.

I converted one end of my trailing arms to use a rod end so torsional forces in the trailings arms are minimal, and they are adjustable to make up for any inaccuracies in my brackets.

I have decided to go with rod ends at the axle and polybushes at the chasis. I have replaced to polybushes with softer items (70 shore), this as greatly reduced the twisting loads imparted into the chasis. This to me is a better solution for a road car.
