Build Table?
rojabuck - 14/7/03 at 10:51 AM

What did people use to keep the chassis up at a desent hight while building?

Mine is currently on axel stands (about as safe as pissing in the wind) so i am looking gor something a bit more sturdy (without spending much!!)

Cheers

I used a black and decker workmate and an old gas fire

Can't get much sturdier than that

I've built a couple of trestle's(spelling?)

out of some spare 4"x2" timber I had laying around. with a little cross bracing they are easily up to the job and cost me nothing but an afternoon's effort....

there is a quick doodle in my pics archive

well if i were to rely on the woodworking skills i gained @ school i would start off with the intention of building stands and end up with a key holder.. why was it always a key holder that we had to make?..

So nipped out to machine mart, got two sturdy tressels for £15 (i love the student discount ) .. There rated @ 60kg each and are much sturdier than the axel standsthe chassis was on before!

cheers for the advice though
