I may finally be about to sort out the top harness mounts on my midi. I intend to put them HORIZONTALLY through the 50x50 cross member behind the
seats - the height is SVA OK! I will reinforce the cross member with some 3mm plate. I had thought about having a 'flange' on the end of
the tubes, as in the lower diagram, but it occurs to me that this might not be such a good idea as it will create a stress point at the
'shoulder'. Anyone got any opinions please? Thanks JC

Inserts are horizontal on my car and it passed no problem. Just make sure that the are above the minimum heights as per the sva manual.
you've shown the cross member as square - SVA manual mention that belt must not run over sharp or abrassive edges - not sure if that appplise buty something to be aware of.
If you're using 'eye' bolts with your threaded tube then make sure you orientate the tube correctly so thay 'eye' is the
right way round!

James
