Hi People.
I intend to build a standard chassis. Or at least a standard chassis recommended by MK (1" taller) to acommodate the 2.0 pinto.
Please could someone out there measure their car and let me know what is the width of the hole where I can put the seat.
I want to keep the build as simple as possible so therefore don't really want to go to a bigger chassis if possible.
The other thing is.... I've got a 34 inch waist. Not huge but not tiny either. Will I fit in a standard chassis OK?

Vince,
My waist measurement is (ahem...) a tad wider than yours. I have no problems when hopping in and out of my standard Locost.
The only things that have ever caused me a slight problem are seats with too narrow a bucket, e.g. Cobra 7's are 'snug' around the bum,
to say the least.
cheers,
David
I have MK fibreglass seats in my book chassis and they are justers. You could make seat pads and a back if you don't want adjustable seats, you
won't move about much as the sides and tunnel will hold you in. The actual width is about 17.5" at the narrowest in my car as the tunnel
kicks in for the offset diff coupling.
yours, Pete.

Cobra Roadster 7's are just the job.
They are a squeeze, but they do fit (the widest bit is above the transmission tunnel, I believe).
Still a bit snug around my arse, though!
David
The widest peice of floor pan on mine is 17". The part where the drivers seat is a possibly smaller than that. I've got Roadster 7's
in and although the sides are slightly deformed further up the seat by the side rails and transmission tunnel the actual bit in contact with the floor
fits with room to spare.
