Powdercoating
Minicooper - 9/7/07 at 02:29 PM

Hello, Anyone how hot they get the metal for the powdercoating process, ideally I need to fit some rubber bushes before my cradle gets powdercoated as it's f' ing tight, trying to squeeze them in without damaging the coating would be almost impossible

Cheers
David

Often curing happens between 250F and 300F. You can get low temp coatings but its a question of whether you chosen place can handle them....

Thanks Ben,
Sounds as though it wouldn't do the bushes any good at that temperature, hmm maybe time for a rethink

the lower end of that should be ok.

most rubbers are cured at 120oC at least, and are ok to 150 deg c once cured, which is about 300F

Plug the holes before blasting and coating with some tight fitting wooden dowels?
