Transmission Tunnel Dimensions for MT75 Box
John P - 12/7/07 at 01:15 PM

I am just about to start on the transmission tunnel area of my McSorley 7+4 chassis into which I am fitting a 2.0 Litre Zetec with an MT75 box.

Although I’ve got the engine and box I don’t have an engine hoist so offering them up is not easy.

Has anyone who has fitted the MT75 box any dimensions for the tunnel. If I use the book measurements will the tunnel be wide enough?

At the rear bulkhead I will be making the width suitable for a Sierra diff so this will be somewhat wider than the book anyway.

As always, any help would be much appreciated.

John.

Hi. The info i have is for a std locost / MT75. Move both H items over by 25mm.

I kept the drivers side as book and moved the passenger side over 19mm

You may also need some mods to clear the starter.

Slighty OT, but nice "jig" there I used a similar method involving scrap wood blocks and 'no more nails'

MT75 is a bit of a squeeze isn't it. I havent put mine in yet, but havent put the H or tunnel in yet anyway. How much leg-room do you get on the usual +4 designs? I have a +4 "base" chassis (ie no engine/gb/trans specific rails in yet) built and am wondering the best way to mount the pedals...
