Is there a reason why there are no tubes to mirror R and Z?
Seems a breach in symmetry, unless it's to create a collision "crumple zone" or something.
i think r gets in the way of certain engines, and z may be just to reinforce the side where the panard rod goes. triangulation and the like!
I have 2 Z's, and after this weekend, will have 2 R's. The lack of the O/S Z is baffling, the N/S R is due to crossflow dangly bits, my pinto does not have the same problem, so i am going to fit one.
I thought it was either cos it hits the manifold, or is a throwback to the original lotus design where minimalist design was the thing.

Hi!
Does anybody have a clue why tubes TR1 are round ones, not RHS? Maybe just beacuse they ar lighter, or what?
Thanks in advance,
Janis
I've done mine in sq. tube, many others i've seen have to. Probably was what uncle ron had available when building the original car!
Ned.
Just as I thougt.
Then I also wouldn't be messing with round tubes.
Thanks!
Janis
