I was wondering if any one has considered making a 2+2 config locost, It would be unusual and with the longer chassis would it prevent the need to cut and weld the prop shafts. I am considering building this from my xr4x4 donor.

So I think from the above reply you have got your answer......no other company offers a 4 seater due to it being a pig ugly thing.

What you could do is take a look and suggest what you could do to make it better....

This is just mho....

Maybe take some ideas from a Morgan 2+2. I guess that you could put the rear seats higher than the front and above the rear axle which would minimise the increase in length. It would end up being tall though. The roll hoop could be between the two rows of seats - like a Wilys Jeep.

If you want to build a 4 seater by all means build a 4 seater - but if you're only doing it to save roughly £100 on a new propshaft you are madder than a mad thing

Apart from anything else the steel sections in the cockpit area would need an increase in section size and wall thickness.

The cockpit area is the weak point in any spaceframe design

EEp! The Vindicator "Family" looks like a Mini Moke! Maybe that's the solution, put a Cosworth motor in a Moke, simple RWD conversion and you're done
