Will be ordering an Indy chassis shortly and just wondering if galvanising would be an alternative to powder coating?
Have a friend who owns a fab shop and he is always sending big bits of fire escape and the likes off to be galvanised.
What d'ya reckon?
General concensus says no.
Check for other posts on this, but I'm certain that was the overall opinion.

It's also a hot-dip process, so every tube has to have a hole in it to avoid bursting. These holes let water in, so it may make things worse!
The general opinion was to use a decent paint, and keep an eye on things once a year.

How about zinc spraying as an alternative to galvanise? I don't know what the process involves but I did have a small subframe zinc sprayed once & no holes were drilled & it kept very clean under my car for at least 5 years.
.. but then the problem still exists when trying to secondary weld... though it is easier to remove than galvanising!
End of day - choice is your's!
