hi I have just got my hands on a small gas bottle the type you get from a drinks machine is this any use to me and how do i get it filled up for use with a mig welder any ideas

If it's a sodastream bottle it's no good. You want a pub type soft drinks sparkler bottle, usually black about 2ft tall and filled with CO2, no Nitrogen added. You'll need a regulator for it as well.

Get well in with a pub landlord and find his cellar gas supplier or someone who is in the soft drinks trade can get them filled. CO2 uses a female connector not like argon so check yours is the right one.
