After my recent fire and losing 2 Locost chassis i was wondering if i could use a Land Rover 90 Defender Chassis instead. I know it would need a bit
of work and be bigger than a standard locost but i'm sure i could do it. I still have an escort back axle and the 5 link bars and brackets so the
back end is not a problem but i'm not sure about the wishbones. I still have cortina uprights so i will need to use them but will i be able to
use standard locost wishbones with new mounting points made up? Engine wise: I have a 1300 crossflow and was wondering how to increase the torque to
cope with the extra weight? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as having lost so much in the fire money is a bit tight and i can get
the Land Rover chassis free.
Thanks
Ronnie

I think CaLviNx mentioned something about using a Land Rover but can't find his post

Is that so that if your garage is fired again the landrover chassis will stand up to the heat!
I think its a bad idea, it will be too bulky and cumbersome and will ultimatley detract from the driving experience you are trying to create.
If you want to ride round in a LR chassis then driver a LR.
All IMO of course.
sounds a good plan
though any of you actually picked up a recent landy chassis? where's all the metal gone? My SI needed three people to shift it, now it needs
only one
Nice try - I can see the date on the post!!!!

Afraid someones beaten you to it
Namly Mr Evans ( Performace and Protection ) Ps He is a nice bloke too.

wow that tube landy chassis just rocks, wish mine had that
Why not pick up a V8 or something and make an offroad vehicle but seven shape body? Would be very different but still to the point, plus as tht pic shows it still looks cool
That looks awesome, I want one - she doesn't come with it though does she??
