I can can cope with 1.6 mm alu, and thats what we use for the Coram.
All I need now is the dosh for a new ac/dc welder, till I find a spare £5000 its stainless or nuthin

I have a Caterham Aluminium tank and that's about 18SWG (1.2mm).
wow. 18 Guage Aluminium. The welder that made that must be worth a few bob.

can usually pick one up for less then a gran on ebay, next big tool on my list 
still a lot of money tho!

I've got a TIG kit but it's DC only. So no Aluminium welding for me either. Don't want to make one out of stainless..... even though
I've got some stainless steel sheet to make it out of because it weighs a TONNE...
The welder thats at the top of my shopping list is a Fronius, I had one out on trial that was a combined MMA, Mig and Tig hence the price, about the
size of a suitcase minus the bottle. Now if I sell one of my boats thats on the market just now, Santa might come early. Sad twat eh, I used to dream

Yeah Shug, I know where you are coming from. I wanted a compressor for so.... so long.... I finally bought a BIG UN off e-bay and it's been
brilliant. Got some great tools to go with it. It really is nice to go into the garage and have the tackle to do what you want to with it.
I parked the Sierra donor in my garage at 08.30 hrs. It came out at 17.00 hours having had all it's bits removed. What Joy.

I got my father to make me a 8 gall tank from 1.0mm stainless - its not that heavy at all - i'd guess less than 10 kilos - which is the weight of
2 galls of fuel.
