my part built locost has a chassis number, how can i check if this number has been registered:

Hi Ian, If the project hasn't been through SVA or registration then it will not be logged anywhere except maybe the chassis manufacturer (if it isn't home built)

I wrote to my local DVLA office with the chassis number I wanted to use. They wrote back several weeks later saying that the chassis number was unique and unused. You could try the same.
