Chaps

Whats the general concesus?

Mount above items by drilling and bolting direct to chassis tubes or weld on more bracketry.

Thanks

Simon

Bolt... could you rivnuts if your want. Or weld a nut on. Up to you

Simon,
I intend to weld little brackets to the side of the chassis tubes and then weld the nuts to the back of the said brackets. I don't want to weaken the engine bay tubes in particular and would prefer to minimise my use of rivnuts anyway.

If you can't be bothered making up all the little brackets then look at either Rally Design or Demontweeks. One of them can supply lots of little brackets of different types for not much money.
Cheers,
Craig.

Cheers chaps.

Craig

Weakening chassis tubes was my concern, hence the question.

Looks like I'll be making some clamp brackets until I can drive the car to the welding equipment to do it "properly".

You could dril a hole and use "wing bolts"which are self tapping bolts, but only for non structural things.

Cheers
