Now... Rolling Chassis
Rallye_Mark - 13/7/08 at 06:36 PM

Well some progress at last, picked up a pair of 7inch compomotive ML's the other day so got my tyres fitted ASAP. After I finished work today I went and picked up a lot of the bits I had lying around, threw them in the car and off I went to Forfar.

Arrived up there and got the chassis off the trailer and onto the ground and made up some dummy damper units, bolted the rear brake discs and wheels on leaving me with this...

Rear from a bit back

It was then onto the front, I fitted the two new hub bolts that were needed but when we married up the upper ball joint that came with my front hubs, the thread diameter was different, so had to drill out the wishbone and tap in the correct thread. It was then a case of making some front dummy units, fit the front wheels, stand back and enjoy...here are loads of pictures that I have taken because I was so happy to finally see it rolling

Looks great!

Looking good, like the wheels too (13's?), Are the tyres road legal, and what width are they? I've been looking for wide tyres for my 7" revo's

Cheers

Alex

Hi Alex, the alloys are 13inch Compomotive ML's, the rears are 8 inch wide and the fronts are 7inch. These ones are not road legal, but you can get the road legal versions that have a slighlty harder compound. The Front tyres are about 185/55/13's and the rears about 215/55/13's.

Don't know if you noticed, but you have your front upright on backwards, eg the left on the right and vice versa, your steering knuckle is pointing to the rear

Is it just me or are the front uprights both on the wrong side??

215's...ideal, didn't know you could get them that wide for 13's
I can sense another purchase coming soon

Cheers

Those wheels are lovely. (So is the Alpha currently on Top Gear!)

Yeah I noticed after I had put them on but light was beginning to fade so didnt bother changing them round, only take 5 mins to change over. Thanks though.
