Hi,
Im trying to fit the steering column in my MK chassie. On the metal sheet in front of the footwell there is a hole for the column bearing. On other
chassis the column goes just over the footwell. If I use this hole the agle of the steeringwheel will be more like a "lorry" type.
Does anyone else use this hole?

I'm using a later adjustable column on my MK,i've set the column high and dropped it down on the adjuster.
This seems to get the steering wheel more vertical towards the driver.
That could solve my problem
Is it from a Sierra? From which year do they have adjustable column?

Higher specification models like Ghia's and GLSi normally have it,i have seen one come off an 89 1.8L so they could have been an extra when new.
The wheel also moves in and out too, which is another bonus
Ok,
Thanks for the info.
