How many bits of each?
Gremlin - 11/7/02 at 03:18 PM

How many lengths of each tube did people get? I have worked out what i think i need and it seems quite a bit.

I'll check when I get home, but I think it was around 6 lengths of 25mm sq., about 2 lengths of 19mm sq. and 2 of 19mm round.

Don't hold me to it - I'll look at my receipts over the weekend.

Assuming they come in 10foot lengths i have worked out 10 3 and 3! I will have to check.

6 metre lengths - approx 20 foot.

You won't get that in your car!

Opps - forgot to say - try and find a supplier who'll deliver (I paid about £5 extra for that), and remember that the steel usually comes with a dirty, greasy coating for rust prevention.

My farther in law owns a engineering ferm who do milling and sheet metal work for larger companys so im going to get him to order them so just trying to sort number of lengths. Thanks

Mike,

If it's any use I ordered 8 off 1" square, 2 off 3/4" round, 1 off 2"x1" (only coz I thought I'd find a use for it - which I haven't) and an 8' x 4' sheet of 16swg. My trans tunnel is inch square.

My chassis is almost complete and I still have one and a half of the inch sq left.

As for your father-in-law doing the order - ensure you get receipt. I believe you need it for registration/sva etc - others I'm sure will confirm or otherwise.
