I put my order into MK a few weeks ago. but iv'e got a few questions.

1) What is the average waiting time for a kit? I've just ordered the basic starter indy kit.

2) What thread size are the bolts for the front suspension and wishbone mountings?

3) What seats have you used for the Indy? Iv'e seen some cobra seats somewhere and fancy puting them in.

4) Does the car need a windscreen to pass SVA?

5) When i went to mk over new year there was a black indy in the corner with a chrome roll bar. what rollbar was it?

6) What would the estimate price for chroming a set of wishbones and a rollbar?

im not sure about the MK specific items, but..........

3. Indy is the same width as the book locost so look at McSorleys site for the exact dims, or use the book dims.

6. i dont know what the price for actually chroming a set of wishbones are but there are alternatives, a friend of mine (yes i do actually have friends apart from the internet) works in the automotive paint industry and he often makes batches of chrome paint which is by far cheaper than actual chrome and gives exactly the same effect.

>I'm probably going to get the MK ones as they are good value for money. If you have Cobra Roadster 7's then put them in, they are top seats!

4) Does the car need a windscreen to pass SVA?

>No. I know a few who put their cars through without. They are not required. I'm not, i'm going to use nothing for sva and then fit a wind deflector and see how i get on with that. If i get too many flies in my teeth i'll put a screen on then but if/when you do put a full screen on you must have wipers and de misters for MOT man.

>I think it's a pretty standard 4 point jobby that's been chromed. Looks nice!

8) What pedals have people put in there's? Standard sierra ones, or Mk ones?

10) Anyone done a black fibreglass car with aluminium panels? How does it look?

11) Is there room for a hydraulic handbrake in the tunnel? (after sva of course!)

8)- If you have bought the kit then you get the MK ones which are fab. If not i think you do still need the MK ones.

9)- Yes, use a sierra brake servo.

10)- I have seen them on the net and they look the dog's danglies!!

11)- Caterham have them in theirs for auto test so i dont see a problem. Get the Demon Tweeks catalogue, there are a couple in there one of which does look quite small.

as im getting an Indy this is helping quote alot! but dont the MK pedals cost £30? does this mean i have carefully removed and bagged up my pedals for no reason?

Gonna have to order them pedals too!

Coming to think of it, the mk pedal mounts are floor mounted, and the sierra ones are top mounted!

Oh well! There goes another £30!

If you have bought the indy kit then the pedals come with it (i'm sure).

Q9 - I think that most don't fit a brake servo. I didn't and don't have problems.

So it's only the master cylinder they've fitted?

My Sierra Brake Cylinder has a huge servo bolted to it! I'd need some sort of a plunger to actuate it with out the servo mount.

In the tiger book, it says to use the sierra M/C without the servo, and details a replacement section that have to make/buy. Don't know what the situation with MK is.

Bugger!! Sorry B3saxo i told you to use a brake servo and i was wrong. You just use the master cylinder. If you use a servo you will have over good brakes and will probably fail SVA.

Saying that when i went out in the Indy demo car i was told that the brakes were really good so be carefull. They were bloody orrible! I never got a chance to use them to the full and i found them to have no feel at all and i had to press damn hard to get them to work. I guess i'm just used to the superb brakes on my car. Saying all this, if it passed SVA then the breakes will do the job!!

I might just buy one sutible from deamon tweeks! only about £35 for the master cylinder and a long acctuator. Probably best with my callipers.
