Anyone know the correct temp the fans should cut in?
Is my R1 temp sensor knackered?
Normal cut in is 105c and out at 100c.

Temp sensor knackered?
Anyone got a spare I can buy?

Looks likely to be the sender. Where are you reading the 115c from though? Is that accurate?

Im taking the reading with an spa capilary gauge just where the water leaves the head. The engine also starts to mis-behave and wants to stop. I'm sure the fans (ecu and original relay controlled) come in at 115
Then I'd say it's the sender if you're happy the SPA is accurate. Infrared thermometer would confirm it.
Mine is happy to sit at the 105-100 range idling find. It does get easy to stall at that though so I tend to override earlier.
Where can I get a new water sensor?
Yamaha?
definately 105 degrees for the fans to come on and off at 100 ish.
Changed the sensor and still the same cut in 115 degress. My infra red thermometer battery is shot. Typical when you want to use it!
I need to get a battery and recheck it!
I'm suspecting that the spa gauge is playing up.
Just got a new battery, gauge is reading 10 degrees over the actual water temp!
My fans work ok.
The engine was running a bit rough so I assumed the worst. Switched fuel maps as I suspect that my recent K'N filter change may have affected the
idle.
I now have a spare temp sensor!

I refer you to posts 4 and 6!

It was two things together that threw me. Gauge showing high temp and rough idling.
I think changing to a K'N plus the map you gave me meant I was running too rich. Changed the map back to my old one and its ok.
I need to get it on the RR myself!
