Does anybody know if the sierra rear drive shaft will fit through the front hub of a front wheel drive ford. i.e, a mondeo, escort MKIII onwards, fiesta etc.

Cheers
Ben

To be honest, I have no idea, but I'd be interested to know what your plan is??

It is a little off-road project i am doing (i ordered way too much steel tubing) whilst doing my locost (i must have too much time on my hands) and i want to make the most of all the bits i have lying around

Ben,

This may sound real stoopid, but wouldn't it be better to use the fwd car's orig d/shafts.

This may sound stupid too but also logical. If the CV joints are the same could you not use the front outer joints running the rear shafts to go through the hubs???

Are you thinking of a way to use sierra rear but so u dont have to make up the hubs by any chance?

I was chnging a wheel bearing the other day on a fiesta. mk3-4 i think. The hubs look almost identical to my sierra ones on my MK. Only difference being the drive shaft. Are you gonna think of a rear wheel drive mondeo?

Its been done. Using a RWD cossie setup. Fast as feck. Just looked like a standard 1.8 ls mondeo!
