Sylva Striker rolling road result - Interpro Thornbury

Hi All,

Well at long last I managed to get my car tuned properly today by Interpro Thornbury.

Engine is a 2.1 Zetec, standard cams running on 45 webers which was running with a 2D map on the Megajolt ECU, this has now changed to a 3D map after fitting a TPS kit to the carbs.

Once all fitted and ready to go, onto the rollers it went.

After a few runs and changing the jets 3 times for bigger ones with abit of fiddling here and there, the tuner was surprised by how healthy the engine was as it wanted more and more.

Keeping within safe limits for the engine internals, we were surprised by how much the single carb socks i have on the engine was restricting the power too.

So currently the engine has a result of :

Power - 169bhp @ 5942rpm
Power at wheels - 133bhp
Transmission losses - 36bhp
Max torque at flywheel - 155ft lbs @ 4857rpm

once I change the socks for the ITG filter that covers each set of carb chambers, should allow for a few more bhp.

did you have by any chance pipercross filters fitted? I had some on my car and i might as well have put socks in the end of the carbs.
we use them at work for tie wrap holders now

good result always nice to come off the rollers with engine working well,

yep those socks do kill the power, should see a little more with a decent filter on but a good start
