cracking video quality!
Excellent, makes ya smile
Bit more power required???
Nice one Dave!
Great shot from the Mazda seeing the three of you fly past him
you just got a cone filter on the inducer? that sounds awesome!
Those atoms are hot out of the corners, aren't they!
But to say the Locost was built by a man in a shed, fooook me is it rapid
So what else can't you keep with on track ?
What engine is that Dave?
400 per tonne I am guessing it's around 220 bhp?
Thanks for all the nice comments guys.
The engine is a ca18det on stage2, so 262bhp exactly (has been RR). Its a 20year old engine of unknown condition so I don't really want to push
it anymore really. A custom remap would see 280+, maybe. Not sure of weight but its at least 620+ I would think.
Warren - you have more of a garage than a shed :-p Whatever its a great car he he. On the day I only let the Ariel's passed, that was it I think.
The comment on the Mazda's video says it all really lol
Coozer - not more power needed, better brakes! The atoms pull so well out of the corners as they're both supercharged, I'm sat waiting for
the boost :-(

GoPro 3+ black edition. 1080, 60fps. Was an eBay bargain.
Do you think the atom is a better handling car or just faster?
Both - less weight, more power and hundreds of thousands in R & D
Where was that? How much?
And do you drive the Locost there and back or are you taking it on a trailer?
Sorry for all the questions but it looks ace, and if one day soon I get my Mac#1 on the road I would love to take it somewhere like this

Noises from your turbo sound awesome
Is the microphone under your bonnet?
It does sound rather epic Dave!
Upgraded brakes, decent damping and some good rubber should see a very fast car indeed! Especially on a larger circuit where you can really stretch its
legs
Nice vid , car goes well !
Ive got a haynes roadster with a ca18det , what rad are you using as mine runs really hot
Cheers
Mike

The microphone is inside my cone filter, it is loud anyway but without the external mic you just get wind noise.
Daniel - I'm now on "sticky rubber", not 888s but semi slicks none the less. I haven't got the funds for protec or similar dampers
so the Gaz will have to stay - brakes are a good possibility though so will be changed asap.
Vtecmike - its an ally one from eBay, I also suffer from heat. 6 laps at Blyton and I need to come in to let it cool. I'm adding flared panels
next month to try and let the heat out faster. Blyton problem is there are no long straights so you never really get proper airflow.

Errr most turbos stall off-throttle if there's no bypass/BOV, don't they?
Really enjoyed that video, usually get bored of track day vids within a minute or so in !
Car sounds great too !! My Westy is just over 200bhp... Vids like this make me want more power !! Can't push my silver top anymore though without
spending big bucks!!
Slightly off topic but which external mic do you use? Putting it in the airfilter is genius!
We have similar line through bunga bunga. Others use it differently! But yours is much better through the final turn! Lol

Dave, someone recently mentioned their turbo setup stalls when off throttle, was that your car? If so, is it worth coming up with a solution for that? It would certainly help with the boost delay, and it might give the turbo itself a few more years service.

This was the WSCC sprint last year....extra power but I'd ruined my soft tyres so I was running cold mediums which made it errr....interesting.
That inlet temp is pretty high!
I think that is because you don't normally see inlet temps during these types of events. You will find that is pretty typically on boost....
A new set of boots would Definately have seen you in the sub 70s laps jeff.
Makes me wonder how much under 65 I could have gone with some decent tyres and a helmet I could see out of

110 or higher would be an issue, 100 is fine.
