Can anyone please explain to me:

a) why people spend all that money on rubbish cars
b) why you would spend all that money and not actually end up making the car go any faster or handle any better

I mean it's like standing in the street and paying people to stand and laugh at you.

I know that at some of these "events" there are some chavettes who can be convinced to get their jubblies out, but if you're young and need to get some dirty water off your chest, why not just go down to the docks, spend £20 and get first hand experience of the real thing?

It's a sh1t car. You spend £10,000 and you are still left with a sh1t car that still drives like it did before (or worse), and you've knackered any resale value it might ever have had.

Phil, not only did I buy your car, but I completely agree with you!

...and they only get stolen by another chav anyway!

There are more "maxed" cars around this area than standard ones, to the point that standard Novas / Corsas / Saxos are a good thing to see (theres something i never thought I'd say!)

My nieces' bloke just bought a new Corsa. It's black, has a 1.7 turbo in it and the biggest Vauxhall sticker I've ever seen on the side. It must be 2 feet across. If you're in Derbyshire you'll probably hear the dump valve

At least it has an engine worth driving... not a 1 litre Nova carrying 2 tons of Plastic!
