Hi guys can anyone share some idears as to how to make an airbox to fit on a set of 1100 ZZR carbs and fit under the bonnett on a 7 style car pictures would be a great help. Cheers BILL.

Hi, the backplate is bent up top and bottom to the angle needed to meet the alloy cover, then I welded another strip alongside to forma channel into which the cover fits, then the two end plates push on, eventually two lengths of threaded rod will be used to hold the lot together.
This pic is huge but you can see the slot arangement.

Mine fits under the bonnet and it's made from carbon fibre

Cut down the standard ST1100 airbox, cut one end off it, glued on a plate onto the cut end, then made up a carbon fibre plenum thingy that goes between the ST airbox and the ali tube connecting to the filter. Carved the plenum out of polystyrene, sanded it smooth, slathered it in epoxied carbon, carved out 99% of the polystyrene then disolved the rest out with petrol. Walloped a plate on the end to bolt onto the airbox plate and happy days all round....

and yes I know my garage is (was) very messy....

Here's mine - more a filter box than an airbox, on CBR600 carbs.

I was fortunate in that I got the original bike airbox with my carbs - this had the mounting rubbers that go between the carb mouths and the filter back-plate. Having the right kit always makes life much easier!

A way I found of gaining space was to use the flat underside of my bonnet bulge as the top of the airbox .

I know their not bike carbs , but they are at least bike throttle bodies

Mines homemade for R1 Carbs.
I used the bike airbox, cut the mounting clamp area out, and sealed it into an aluminium box.

The carbon airfilter is from Car Builders Solution.

Had it on the rolling road, and only had to increase the main jets. No Dyno jet kit required. Very Happy

this thread has pics of my pipercross 600 air box fitted to r1 carbs on a pinto all under the bonnet.

Folded aluminium, then rivetted and seled with ali duct tape.
