LHD - leave as is or convert?
I've acquired a Leftie rolling chassis and was after the consensus on whether it would be worth continuing the build as it currently is, or
while it's still nice and early changing it over to RHD?
I'm not really put off by LHD as I plan on using the car mainly on track, and even on the road visibility issues won't be as severe. It
already has a quick rack installed and brake pipes for LHD but I can't see any real problems with changing everything over.
So whaddayathinkthen?

i'd have no problem driving a lefty, however, insurance may be higher, so if you will be driving on the road, i'd convert now.

At this stage its easy as pie to convert.
Downside of LHD is driving (overtaking view is severely reduced, especially as you are low down.
The biggy is insurance, its going to be more but not hugely so.
Other than that, no problem really.
Its a few brackets, and the correct steering rack at this stage. (I'd fit a quick rack)
Once built, its a lot more work.
I would definately convert now rather than later.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Only benefits of keeping the LHD in your case I can see are:
Avoiding the cost of a new rack (assuming it's not a RHD rack that's been fitted the wrong way around - that would have given some comedy
steering).
and strangely resale value. Given in the UK it will be massively lower - if you can sell at all, but if you make the effort to sell into the EU then
you'll potentially get a lot more for LHD than you could make for a RHD in the UK.

So finally there is a car with the steeringwheel on the left....
Maybe if you sell it for a nice price we will bring it to the shore!

It's just a rolling chassis at the moment - still to decide what to do with it as I have 2 weeks off and I could make some real progress in
terms of getting things in and fitted, or I could spend time changing and moving things, i.e. less proper progress.
If it isn't broke, fix it until it is

if it's only a rolling chassis, even I would convert it.
It's nicer to have the wheel on the right side (What ever that be )
If you planning to sell it someday it will better.
BTW: you can leave the brackets for LHD.
