Steel suppliers in Bristol - Recommendations.

As title, preferably somewhere that can deliver. Ive tried a couple of places, but they will only sell huge quantities, or dont deliver...

Cheers,
Scott.

Try an e-mail to Paul Beyer on this site.

He lives in Bristol. He's done an MK but he's Dad's a fabricator or something so may well know the best places.

HTH,

James

Cheers James, i have sent Paul Beyer an email, hopefully he will be able to recommend somewhere.

Tom, im after all the material for my chassis basically. I am planning to build a mid engined roadster with IRS, i very much like Alan B's Meerkat, if i can end up with something that looks similar, i will be a very happy man!

I am still at the design stage, but have a 1.6L Honda Vtec engine for my power plant, which weighs in at 140kg & puts out 170bhp, And my turbo turned up the other day, so i shouldnt be short on power

Monkey - Fred Powell seems pretty good - I've bought some steel from them, they know what they're talking about and they can deliver reasonably cheaply. I think they hold all the ERW needed, but they'll probably need to get CDS in specially (they did when I ordered it, it was only a day or two's wait though).

Viper - the story I head was that emission control taxation has recently stepped up causing prices to go through the roof and probably causing all sorts of temporary supply problems.

kingr - Thanks, i went to Fred Powell at lunch time, and ordered the SHS i need, it should be arriving wednesday morning

Steel prices are on the way up, they had a notice stuck on the counter explaining it all, apparently its to do with more expensive energy and the chinese. Its going to get worse all year apparently.
