Mk Tiger Luego or Other

I was all set to buy a MK Indy then i read this months KitCar!

The artical on Tony Skeldings car was a good review on the Indy but left a few doubts. They wrote that although the company were much improved and had gained much more experiance over the last few years and cars handled well they were still slightly behind the front runers.

They were suprised how well the car went though in a straight line and round corners and said it could handle a lot more power than the 2.0lt Pinto it currently had in it so that made me feel better.

I still like the idea of the MK Indy kit but wondered what others thought compared with other companys like the Avon Tiger, Luego or others?

I dont want to spend that sort of money and wait all that time and find it was the wrong car!

fair comment
the easiest solution is to go to the donnington show and have a look at all the major players. thats what I did before going for the indy. the quality of the wishbones etc swayed me. what I did like is the fact that martin has eliminated the bump steer problem. I looked at a robin hood nice complete package, the same with the tiger. W~~~~~~d and C########M I dismissed
altogether purely on cost if I was going to part with that much money I would sooner buy a Sumo Cobra. Luego IMHO appeared on the scene a little to soon after another company went to the wall and I wondered if my money would be safe.
all the above is just my opinion look, talk see beneath the sales pitch and work out just what you get for your money.
ie Robin Hood more or less complete
lolocost cheap and cheerfull
MK Chassis,wishbones F& R moded rack etc

I ordered my chassis, g/f parts & alloy panels for Luego just as the 'other company' went to the wall and shared your concerns about my money but it was no problem, took a bit longer for delivery than expected but very pleased with everything for Luego so far; delivery can be a bit long winded at times but with a bit of forward planning no real build hold ups to date.

Grant & Matt at Luego are always helpful. I would buy from them again.

Just my few pennies worth on the subject:

I've been speaking to Grant at Luego this week and agree with you about how friendly and helpfull they are. I only bought metalastic bushes tho so I can't comment as yet on how good their stuff is.

I've bought bits from Lolo before, purely because they were the only ones to take credit cards. When the bits arrived they were crap and when I tried to take them back (agreed on the phone I'd take them to Stoneleigh show) I was fobbed off with bullshit by the manager. Needless to say they don't get my recommendation and I've been telling people what a wanker the guy in charge is.

Have heard lots of good things about MK stuff. Only criticism is they seem to be a little hard to get hold of.

Mad B,

Just to set the record straight as regards Luego appearing at the time another co went out of business.

From my understanding Locost Limited were supplied with their chassis etc by Luego. Luego were around before Locost Limited. This has been dealt with on numerous other occassions on this forum.

I've bought front wishbones, bushes, brackets, nosecone, arches amongst other bits and pieces.

When I was last up there, Grant was getting somewhat peaved at people putting rumours around that Luego were in trouble. I don't think a NEW car, website etc are signs of a company in trouble. As for commitment, they have a chassis being studied for torsional rigidity etc etc by Cranfield University!!

I'd suggest you phone them or go and see them. Grant and Matt just cannot do enough to help. I'll be using them again!!

All i want at the moment is a good starter kit and chassis so am still looking at MK for there Indy but may give luego a look first. I must admit i heared about the lack of bump steer and liked the sound and i have spoken to them and as yet had no problems getting in contact although i ring just after they open so they are probably still gathered around the kettle.

I heared one company under the locost name was really bad is this the company that went under or possibly the company chrisw mentioned as lolo?

Yeah, Sorry, should have said 'LoLocost' (or should that be LoLoQuality) Steer well clear of them!
