Sqweaking rear suspension area (bushes?)
Hi all,
Just wondering if people have any thoughts regarding one of my issues. A few months ago I replaced my rear lower upright pivot bolts from metric to
impirial following a discussion on here (common issue on many se7ens). I was under the impression, and agree, that the movement allowed due to the
slack between inner bush and bolt means that a full accurate geometry set up was worthless. This is one of the things I want to do next.
Since changing the bolts the rear right sqweaks when the suspension is used, not the left. It stopped in the rain which suggests that some lubricant
would be usefull. Some fault finding steps I have already done:
I have taken off the shock and moved the whole corner up and down but cant replicate the noise to chase it.
Compared effort needed to move rear quarters with the shocks off, very comparable.
During fitment the bolt was alot harder to get lined up and through compared to the slightly smaller bolt. Showing tolerancies are tight.
I tightend the bolt up fully once it was on the ground not on axle stands.
If it is all free moving and pivoting nicely is it just a case of some grease maybe required?
I would like to keep the bigger bolts if possible as I do feel that the rear wheels could change their toe and camber with the smaller bolts.
Is copper grease required on these pivot bolts? There were no signs of it on the ones I removed.
Thoughts?

I've always found red rubber grease tends to dry out very quickly.
Silicone grease works well on poly bushes. The Poly-bush manufacturers always claim they are resistant to mineral oils/greases, but it does tend to
promote swelling in practice.

So the masses say not to worry how or why just add grease?
