Bigger is better
Hi all
Ok I have an empty garage and a welder/mechanic on stand by.
What is the largest people have expanded the chassis out to.
I am 6ft 8" tall so will need some serious room, I am also planing on a 6 cyl engine of around 3L or so, so I will need to stretch the room in
the engine bay to.
All help and advice is great.

try luego velocity chassis as a starting point, it can take a V8 and is much bigger than standard book car.

Dont you mean Luego Viento, which is 6" wider and 12" longer, and basically as far as I can see a Scaled up Velocity / Locost.
I have sat in a viento, and its nice and roomy, whereas a Dax, and a Locost managed to squeeze my Bum a bit.
I am 5' 10" and 18.5 stone.
My Lad is 6' 4" and 16 St (and only 16) cant stretch his legs in a book locost.
Advantage of building your own chassis is you can make it as big as you need.
Viento is a big car! (compared to a locost)

I am 6'6" and fairly well covered and have no problems sitting comfortably in a locost with an extra 4"length in the cockpit
area.

If you are going to build a chassis from scratch you have to look at his site. There are several different size options there.

Balderdash, you are 6'43" and very well covered, and after a severe amount of bashing, fitted into my book chassis with no problem. It
took an engine crain and 4 tubs .
of vaseline to get you back out but that is a different story.
McSorleys plans are excellent, deserves all the praise he gets
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
