Shorter threaded inserts?

A previous thread has drawn my attention to these;

Basically threaded inserts in a whole load of sizes, but they are a bit shorter than the ones suggested for wishbones. Can these be used on Haynes Roadster wishbones in any way?

IIRC the maximum pull out strength is achieved at only 1.5 x the diameter of the thread, so for a 13mm or 1/2" bolt that's only 20mm. However, from a peace of mind point of view, I prefer longer inserts, said the actress to the Bishop.
