Mystery chassis can you help identify?

Hi all, I have agreed in principle to purchase a 7 style kit car project. The seller inherited the project from a friend and does not know anything about it or who made it. What I can piece together from the pictures is it's made of square box section welded together, it has aluminium side panels like a locost would and grp nose and wings. The running gear has been salvaged from a crashed Caterham according to the seller but it does not appear to be a Caterham of Westfield chassis at all.
There are a couple of features I have tried but failed to identify. The first being the fact that it has a dash board panel included which has not been cut for dials so must have come with the kit from new. The second is the rear wheel arch where the aluminium is riveted in a distinctive v shape around the rear suspension with an obvious hanging point. Finally the top harness mounts are welded to the triangulated central tunnel sections. This is very distinctive and I cannot find any other chassis that shows this welding or seat belt anchorage in this fashion.

Early MK locost? Wishbones don't look correct.

Looks to be Sierra based - diff, driveshafts, stalks etc.

Aside from that I don't recognise it as a particular make or model of chassis.

Any idea of the age of it? That might indicate which manufacturers were around at the time.

Could of course be home built.

its home built is my guess... to the locost book.

peddle box is Westfield top mount
De-dion is from GTS / Roty plans (MK was bent as i recall not welded).
The 'V' brace under the diff isn't (i think) standard to anyone.

Need clearer closer pictures of bits to get into more detail

I just hope you are not paying a lot for it?

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I have no further pictures or information unfortunately. Age is unknown, it's up for £1600. My inclination was towards a home made chassis but the instrument bulkhead piece looks very neat. Would the aluminium side panels normally be rivet fixed behind a wheel arch? The finish on that particular section is very poor.
Thanks

That could be a reasonable price. It depends how well things are done and what works / doesn't work / is missing

Am inclined to agree with MikeR that the de-Dion rear end arrangement look very GTS, especially in that it appears to laterally located by Panhard Rod (although as yet unconnected). Not sure about the front suspension design. As per others have remarked, this could well be a home-brew chassis.

Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

If the engine and induction that appears in the pics is included, that could be a bargain . . . . . . .is there an ecu included ?

Hi All,

I bought the chassis and I've stripped it down. No makers marks anywhere. I have taken some more detailed pictures, any more ideas? I sent the original images to MK and they confirmed it is not one of theirs. The riveted aluminium and de dion rear end are quite distinctive.
