Can you not take the rear mounting point at the pivot end further back down the chassis, would avoid the shock & make the whole thing stiffer/more
stable?
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

You could move it a little further back, by welding a bracket across the top rail and the diagonal, but you'd need to be very careful to
ensure that it was jigged up accurately, and I honestly don't think it's necessary: the distance between the fore and aft pickups is just
fine, and the wishbone can be redesigned to give sufficient clearance to the coilover without messing about with the pickup positions:
For what it's worth, it doesn't look like a major job to convert it to pushrods and rockers, either (in which case the pushrods would
give ample clearance to the wishbones). In fact, it looks like pretty much a bolt/weld on kit, which I'm sure RR would be happy to sell
to the OP (not! ):
ETA: If the front pickups are deflecting as much as the OP thinks (and I still have serious doubts - check by mounting a dial gauge to measure
from one to the other), the obvious solution would seem to be to simply add a brace across between them. Could probably even be bolt-on, using the
same bolts that mount the wishbones.
