how high is the scuttle or bonnet from the ground .
As the subject says, can someone give me the measurement as to how hight the top of your scuttle is from the ground- and ground clearance to the
bottom of the frame for the same car.
Thanks.

It obviously depends upon the engine you are using. On mine I am planning to use a 1.6 pinto with the bottom of the sump (unmodified) positioned
approx 1 inch bellow the bottom rail. Given the near 27" height of the engine I am planning to make the scuttle 27" high at the front
centre to give me clearance. The bonnet and nose cone being positioned to suit.
This is the plan but as I have yet to try it I suspect somebody else here will holler if I am wrong.

Having looked at your photo archive I note that you are using an injected engine consequently you will have a much taller engine so I am not sure my
earlier reply is relevant

High point at the rear of my scuttle is 29". Floor to chassis at the same spot is 5"
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Thanks for the replies, I am going to redue the intakes and thotle body on the engine to keep them from crossing over the valve cover- this will drop
my engine height by almost 4 inches . I think I can get away with just under 30 inches with a 5.5 inch ground clearance. Thas with +2 inches in
height of the chassis. Thanks
