Good books
Basically (and i know its been flogged) i am thinking of doing an IRS design as simple as possible, i already have some uprights (cant even remember
who i got them from, will get some piccys up) And want to design wishbones etc. What good books are there that may help me work out the geometry etc,
and tell me what i should be aiming for? Thank You!!

Yeah, see i was going to do the book design but then fancied something special at the back. De Dion looks ok but i couldnt make the tube etc so would
end up buying all the bits from GTS or the like. As it is i have some uprights and a diff and free space. What should i aim for with wishbone lengths
etc?

"Race and Rally Car Source Book", by Alan Staniforth is noted as a bible on suspension design and general car preparation.

Rorty posted an IRS design on here (in the runnign gear section) which is worht looking at. I intend to use it unless something better comes along
before I get to the back end.
You could try the Avon book for an off teh shelf design.......
In "Competition Car Suspension: Design, Construction, Tuning" by Allan Staniforth there is a good description of making a string computer
for suspension geometry - and at least one of the pictures on Beardmore Bros website mentioned by rsk289 is of Allan's current race car.

As far as books go, "Chassis Engineering" has a chapter devoted to IRS design.
Other cheaper and more design-focused sources can be found here:
http://www.bevenyoung.com.au/suswin.htm
This is a suspension modelling program with a free trial that allows you to change all sorts of factors to essentially "build" your IRS on
your computer.
