Custom Steering Rack?
I am trying to source a manufacturer for building a custom steering rack for a scratch built car (it is not quite like the L7 - much wider rack). We
have looked at the following companies:
Titan
Continential
Maval (custom Mustang & Omni racks)
Flaming River (custom Mustand & Omni racks)
As well as off the shelf racks from:
Appleton
Jack Knight
Wilwood
Strange
Quaife
We can’t quite get the specs we need – are there other manufacturers?
Thanks
Don

I am surprised that Titan or Jack Knight can not do what you want, because they would be my first choices.
Sorry I can not think of anybody else, you have listed all the big players I can think of.

What spec is the problem? Rack length can be changed, it can also be moved vertically, so is it the speed? Use a Triumph Spitfire rack, which is
what most Cobras use, around 1.9"/turn. Dang fast in my Mini!

Did you manage to get some specs (drawings etc.) from some of those manuafacturers?
I`m myself looking for a steering rack for a single seater project. I mailed Pilbeam some months ago but I didn`t get any answer. I would not like to
phone because I live in the UK but I gues I have to.
