Steel / alu suppliers in Leicester?
Hi everyone
Anyone know of any good steel / alu suppliers in Leicester/Melton Mowbray / Nottingham at a push?
Leicester best really.
I'm after some Tube, maybe box section etc...
Tried looking on Yell etc but theres just so many and without ringing them all and finding out if they do off-cuts its really difficult!
Thanks
Will.

[edit] But then, being an ITGuy I'm sure you've already had a look and are looking for a personal recommendation...I'll get my

funny you should ask.....
Ive just been to Aalco in south nottingham. Really easy to get to, just off the A52. Do you know your way round notts? Know where ISIS nightclub is?
I got a chunk of 100mm dia, 100mm length ali for 20 quid.
Dont search yell for things like this, its all about http://www.kellysearch.com although you will have to do some page surfing to get what you want.

I've been using 'Nottingham Steel Supplies'. Seemed OK and reasonably priced:

for steel tricky to beat NSI in nuneaton, maybe a bit far from you bit they do credit card and deliver for a quid, but not sure about as far as your
place.
If you do CAD they are also THE place in the UK for laser profiling, do my stuff there and they are the biggest subcon laser outfit in the UK but
still do little diy type jobs too.

No-one specific no, just ring them up and they deal with you like a human unlike a lot of the bigger places! lol. I don't get that much done but
if you can plan a build ahead so you need 20 off suspension brackets of various shapes but in one thickness they are great. email them the dxf file
and they will go from there with a quote. Quality of their pressbrake work is great unlike many places I have dealt with.

metalsupermarkets are great for odds and sods but for chassis steel etc will cost a fortune!

I use Leicester aluminum.
Freemans common.
They do all non ferrous metals & always have lots of offcuts.
