To not put too fine a point on it....
the guy's a crook and fled the country to avoid the many and various legal actions against him!
Cheers,
James

The subtle change in the new books title did raise a smile I must admit.

A whole bunch of people (including some of the original members on here, and certainly people on TOL) were owed orders for chassis/kits etc. when he
departed to Spain.
Various businesses were owed too.
I heard from a reliable source that they were after him in Spain too, for affairs relating to setting up a 750 style race series in Spain.
Cheers,
James

You forgot the "Allegedly"
James you have to add this to the end of your statements, I've seen it on "Have I got news for you"
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

he's croaked?)

I never really thought that he was a crook - a totally crap businessman, but not a crook (Allegedly!). He often seemed able to convince other people
that they could make money from Locost kits and spares, but experience has since shown that the only way you'll do that is by being a bit
special - a cut above the rest (like MK, MNR, and all the others). I bet all those will say that they don't make a fortune out of it
either.
I met him once, at Oundle School - nice bloke, but a bit 'bumbling' if you know what I mean. Bit like Mick Aston from Time Team!

Errm. OK never met the bloke and dont really know much as to what he has supposedly done or not but....
Surely he has to be given some credit?
How many of us are here because of his book? It brought the whole idea that anyone can build their own car (whatever the cost!) to millions of ppl
around the globe!
TBH I think he got many fat a**es out into the garage and doing something useful!
Just my 2ps worth

Around the globe is the catch...
Have a child,
Plant a tree,
write a book...
Build a Locost (or hicost for that matter....)
Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....
