Chassis height
I am busy building a Mcsorley chassis, I was using the std book drawings, but wanted to add a bit of height so that I could fit a 20v 4age motor
without having problems with sumps and holes in the bonnet. I have started by adding 50mm in height to the engine bay and cockpit area but my concern
now is that will my car look odd if I keep the bulkhead the same height. I have checked the Mcsorley 7+442 drawings and the rear bulkhead is 533 high
which is the same as the book chassis.
Do I infact need to add the height for the 20v 4age.

It's difficult to say what the extra height will look like - I added 1" by using 38X25 tubes for the top & bottom rails and think it
looks ok - means I can reduce the scuttle height by 1" which makes the car look a lot lower.
One thing you could try is to slant the upper member down towards the back an inch or two in the cockpit which will help to visually disguise the
height and looks more like the original 7 if memory serves me right.

I made my chassis one inch higher front, and back, but ran the tube on the cockpit side down one inch, (from front to back). I did mine because the V6
is a bloody great big engine. As you can see from my avatar doesn't look too bad. Ray
To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

It's subjective. If you like the way it looks, do it. Many people don't like how 7's look - that hasn't stopped anyone here.
