Build Jig
Hello,
I'm going to get some 3/4 or 1 inch ply to make a build jig to layout my floor of my car on, what have people used to keep the tubes in the
correct position

little screw blocks from any diy place
B and Q ect Around a quid for 20

Same as ^^^^^ plus I made up strips of flat bar with holes at either end, placed them over all the main tubes and screwed them into the base board.

Mines the same but my blocks where made of 25mm square x 50mm lengh wooden blocks.

Thanks Guys,
Went to B&Q got the blocks, pick up the wood tomorrow morning as I wasn't sure on the measurements I needed

how sturdy have people found different ply thicknesses to be? If you have it on tressles how much support does it need to have less than a mm flex?

I think ply any thickness will need to be properly braced to get it anywhere rigid enough. We built ours from some 8x2, 18mm(i think) ply top and put
on it a set of tressles. It has worked very well, being very stiff and we almost completely built the car up on it so you can work at a decent height.
Only recently has the car car been put onto the floor.

good god that looks solid! 
i was thinking of getting 6 800mm wide kitchen base units, 3 on each side back to back, with a 1.2x2.4m board on top. This only supports it every
800mm though, so i then though that i could put notches into the top and put a metal frame under the ply. Easy to get it level due to the adjustable
legs, plus lots of storage underneath!
