Lolocost chassis?

Has anyone bought or using a Lolocost Original chassis?.
Im seriously considering it, as weldings not my strong point (no pun intended).
Price is £375.00 so its not overly expensive.
Any verdicts?

Cheers
Mike

Don't do it, Lolo are crap.

MK on the other hand according to all sources is the biz.

Agreed about Lolo - the other problem being once they've got your money they don't want to know.

I know I'm just repeating what others have said but MK stuff is really the buisness.

Mike,

I have what I believe to be a chassis made by Lolocost. It was won in a raffle and sold on, as the winner had already built his own chassis. It is virtually identical to the one on their homepage, but is live axle. I think this is quite different from what they are now selling. Having seen MK’s work, I would say that the welding is much neater on his product, but I have no regrets with the chassis I have. However, I would say that now that my welding has improved, I would build my own next time??! If you are close to Gatwick, you would be more than welcome to have a look.

Regards, Ian.

On the subject of Lolo not wanting to know once they have your money.
I bought my suspension setup from MK. It was difficult to pin him down and get him to take my money ! It took a couple of weeks to get through on the phone The gear was Tig welded loveliness, but I had a problem with the axle brackets, they were drilled incorrectly. Oh dear, how the flip am I gonna get him to replace 'em when he was so difficult to get hold of when I wanted to give him cash
Anyway, to cut a long story short, after a single e-mail and a phone call he posted another perfect set off and included a spare set ! 100% customer satisfaction here

Hi,
I'm building an MK Indy car now and as a trained engineer I can say with confidence they are the best.
If you fancy a Lolocost then good luck, but have you thought how hard it is to drill through flat panels onto their round tube chassis ?
After going round Donnington's Craner curves at 111mph last year I know the suspension works.
Try phoning MK about 9.15 am they will be having their tea break!
Martin is very genuine but very very busy.

visited MK last weekend to pick up GRP --- having driven 250 miles to do so---- I found them really helpful and after seeing the set up would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone ---with regard to the phone issue -they are a victim of their own success !!!!

reputation founded on positive personal experiences from numerous builders --they are , if anything , to helpful for their own good !

If you want quality and service it's sometimes worth phoning at a time inconvenient to yourself and better for them --ie early AM ,as the previous post says--

regards , Phil

ps -great cup of tea after a long trip !!!!
